New communication tool gives customers direct access to RS mobile website and technical support
Oxford, 1st March 2010 - RS Components, the leading distributor of electronic, electro-mechanical and industrial products, today announced a new Apple iPhone application that is live and available to customers in France today. Offering industry-first functionality, this tool will allow customers to interact directly with RS and provide them with direct access to the RS mobile website and technical support staff.
Customers in France will be the first to be offered this tool with a rapid roll-out to global markets in the upcoming months. The application has several unique features including the ability for customers to identify their product requirements by taking a photograph of the required part on their iPhone and sending it directly to Radiospares. With a guaranteed response rate of within one hour, technical support staff will identify the part and send the stock identity number back to the customer and link them directly to a purchasing option. New functionality will continue to be added to the application as it evolves based on customer feedback.

This new application builds on the current extended suite of online services available from RS that provide customers instant access to its broad portfolio of 500,000 products with many exclusive offers and discounts. The tool is available from today on the Apple iTunes App Store when a search is entered for "Radiospares".
