Corporate Responsibility is an essential part of our business philosophy and we take our stakeholders' expectations into account in consistently encouraging a strong social, environmental and ethical approach to our business activities. Electrocomponents is a member of the FTSE4Good index and we participate in the Carbon Disclosure Project.

In 2005 we established a set of Corporate Responsibility principles both to guide our trading practices and to set ethical standards for our management processes. These require:

  • compliance with the laws and regulations of the countries in which we operate.
  • that company resources are not used in an illegal manner.
  • that no employee enters into any anti-competitive arrangements.
  • that the highest standards of personal and ethical behaviour are maintained.
  • respect for the rights of every employee and the provision of a safe and healthy environment in which to work.

The principles are communicated through our Group Policy Manual.

We support independently managed procedures for the confidential reporting of breaches of these principles. These procedures are available to all employees.
